HYPERHIDROSIS

Perspiration is regulated by the sympathetic nervous system. Some people perspire so profusely that it becomes very unpleasant for them.The operation can be performed with local or general anaesthesia. In case of local anaesthesia, a tumescent local anaesthesia is normally used.

The level of perspiration is then much higher than necessary to keep the body temperature constant. This disorder is called hyper- hidrosis.

The location of the hyperhidrosis can differ. Hands, face, armpits and the feet are frequently affected.
